Joshua Foer: Step Outside Your Comfort Zone and Study Yourself Failing from 99% on Vimeo.
currently reading his book on memory………!
joshua foer talks about how after reaching a certain stage of “being good at something” you sort of stop getting any better at it even though you are constantly practicing. so he talks about how professionals, or experts in any professional field, become better and the best of who they could be.
and in a sense, he is saying, you could become a really good writer, or you could become a really good typist, mathematician, or a really good physicist. basically, by making changes to how you do things, you could get even better at it.
a very good talk, only 17 minutes, you can spend it on this
joshua foer is the brother of jonothan safran foer. and he actually sold his book, for 1.2 million dollars before having written a single word. the kicker being while he was only 24. i think we all love facts like that right?
